Until the year 2001 Swissair was the national airline of Switzerland. The airline started flying in 1931 when two earlier airlines, Ad Astra and Balair, merged. Together with Lufthansa, Swissair was the first operator of the Airbus A310. Swissair operated both the A310-200 and the A310-300. The photograph shows an Airbus A310-300 taking off from Geneva Cointrin Airport.
