Copa Airlines is the national airline of Panama. The airline started flying in 1947 as Compañia Panameña de Aviacion (=COPA). Copa has a close relationship with US major Continental Airlines, which controlled 51 percent of the airline from 1999 to 2006. Today Continental's stake is only 12,3 percent. The ties between both airlines are reflected in the Copa-livery, which is a variation of the colours of Continental. The photograph shows a Copa Boeing 737-700.
