Air Berlin is the third largest low-fare airline of Europe. The airline started operating as a US charter airline based at Berlin Tegel, but in 1992 it became German-owned. Since then Air Berlin is a fast growing airline, mainly flying Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 family aircraft, but also a number of Fokker 100s.
