McDonnell Douglas MD-11

Lufthansa, the national airline of Germany, is one of the biggest air cargo carriers of the world. In the late 1990s Lufthanse replaced its ageing Boeing 747-200F freighter fleet with McDonnell Douglas MD-11F cargo aircraft, of which it operates a total of 19 aircraft. The last MD-11 built was delivered to Lufthansa in early 2001. The aircraft on the photograph is approaching Lufthansa's homebase Frankfurt Rhein/Main Airport.
